If you have temporary or permanent difficulties that affect your learning and participation in an academic context, resulting from motor, sensory, perceptual, cognitive, psychological limitations, chronic or debilitating health conditions, or others, and which are duly proven by a report prepared by a specialist in the field, you can apply for Specific Educational Needs (SEN) status.

Técnico students with specific needs arising from temporary or permanent health conditions, as set out in the Regulations associated with Specific Educational Needs status.

Students who wish to apply for Specific Educational Needs (SEN) status must:

The application can be made at any time, and the Status may be temporary or permanent.

The entire process is treated with confidentiality and discretion: the documentation and information provided are not accessible to third parties nor disclosed to teachers. The Status is not recorded in the final course documents and serves only to formalise the support to which students are entitled.

Scholarships for Students with a Disability Rating of 60% or Higher

Students with a disability equal to or greater than 60% may apply for a scholarship corresponding to the amount of tuition fees actually paid, up to the maximum amount of the tuition fee subsidy awarded by FCT, I. P., for obtaining a doctoral degree in Portugal, currently set at €2,750. To apply, you must:

  • Provide proof of the degree of disability through a multi-purpose medical certificate of disability;
  • Have your tax and social security situation in order.

The application process is carried out through an online form, after accreditation.
