Taguspark Campus hosts a special edition of the RTP1 program ‘É ou Não É?’ – The Great Debate
On July 18, the north atrium of the Taguspark campus was the stage for the live broadcast of the RTP1 program “É ou não é?” – The Great Debate.
At 10:09 p.m., the program’s theme song played, and the technical team was ready to start. “We’re on the air” was heard, followed by a panoramic video of the wide glass wall with “IST” inscribed. Carlos Daniel, the presenter, welcomed everyone to what was a special program “Because we are in the week that marks the end of the political year” and also because “it’s the last episode of the season.”
“What is the state of the Nation?” was the starting question for the beginning of the debate. Justice, Security, Health, Education, Supervision, and Housing were some of the topics discussed.
Francisco Assis, President of the Economic and Social Council, José Silva Peneda, former Minister of Employment and Social Security, Rosália Amorim, Director of Diário de Notícias, Arménio Carlos, former Secretary-General of CGTP, João Soares, RTP commentator, José Matos Correia, former Vice President of PSD, Ana Drago, RTP commentator, and António Costa Pinto, political scientist, were the guests on the two panels.
The north atrium, illuminated in red and white, was the setting chosen by RTP to create a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere. In a play of light and color, various angles were filmed that reflected the campus’s particularities.
Between agreement and controversy, 130 minutes passed, and several conclusions were drawn. “We’ll be back in September,” were the parting words of the presenter, who emphasized the start of the next season.
