Description: The UT Austin Portugal Program Annual Conference is the Program’s largest knowledge-sharing and networking event, bringing together its community with world-renowned speakers from academia and industry from the Partnership’s geographic scope and beyond.

As the Program nears the end of its third phase, its Annual Conference returns in October with an ideation exercise that will help us understand the Program’s role in building Portugal’s future.

This year’s conference will explore the journey of scientific discoveries from their inception to their implementation in the market. To this end, we have chosen the Oeiras Tech, TagusPark – also known as the City of Knowledge – to be the stage for the Program’s most important networking event.

The event’s agenda includes different types of sessions, from keynotes to round tables and talks. The main topics will include the integration of interdisciplinary research, effective collaboration between academia and industry and the role of technology transfer offices in facilitating commercialization. There will also be time to imagine the future and reflect on the place of science in shaping it and what is needed to turn scientific discoveries into practical applications that will help us tackle the biggest challenges of the future.

The conference aims to inspire and equip participants with the knowledge and tools they need to increase the social impact of their scientific endeavors.
